Hi, welcome!

I write about finding joy in the BIG moments and the little things. Let’s be happy together :)

¨... and the manna ceased...

¨... and the manna ceased...

I was digging around my Google Drive today and found what you’re about to read. I don’t typically journal on my computer, (I’m more of a pen-and-paper kind of girl), but when I read this today, I felt urged to share it. Not sure who it’s for, but I will obey because He knows. :)

Like always, I hope this blesses and encourages you. Most of all, that you’d hear what He wants to tell you.

*This is more of a journal entry in my own personal archive. Just something to have to read and reflect on in years to come.

Manna means ¨what is this¨. We tend to relate manna to bread, scarcity, and ¨just enough¨. But I´ve experienced years of manna while still walking in provision and great opportunities.

In the current season I am in, I have found myself looking up to God at various times and saying, ¨God, manna!? God, what is this?¨ I think He is telling me one thing but my circumstances profess otherwise. One day, I am full of hope and believing for the impossible and the next, it feels like my hope put me to shame. I think we often neglect how many layers and intricate details are involved in each season and circumstance. We think it´s black and white and punish ourselves when we can´t figure out what ¨it¨ is. But if Creation teaches me anything about our Good God and Sovereign Creator it´s that black and white are not the only two colors in His palette.

Joshua 5:12 (ESV) says: And the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

That is my promise, that one day, I will indeed eat the produce of the land (Isaiah 62, 65). And on that day, I won't ask God, ¨What is this?¨, I will look around and what for so long did not have form, shape, or make sense, will make sense, will have a form and a shape, and prove that when we put our hope in Jesus we are never put to shame. Much like a baby in the womb… its features and personality are hidden until the time of birth… and are continually being revealed as the baby grows.

I eagerly await the day when the manna will cease. The day when I will eat the fruit of the land. No tear is wasted, no seed is uncounted in my Father’s eyes, no sacrifice unseen, no prayer unheard. I believe that He has seen it all. And every sacrifice, big or small in my eyes, has meant much to Him… has made Him smile because He can see more of Jesus shining through this cracked clay vessel. It will all come together. And my land will not just feed me, but be a place where others can come eat the fruit I have cultivated. They can sit in the shade of trees He planted (Isaiah 41) in the desert for me. They can eat the fruit that I worked for. Because that´s what Jesus did for me. He died and gave me the fruit of His sacrifice to eat (John 12: 24).

Thank You, Jesus.
