Hi, welcome!

I write about finding joy in the BIG moments and the little things. Let’s be happy together :)

8 AFFIRMATIONS TO WRITE ON YOUR MIRROR

8 AFFIRMATIONS TO WRITE ON YOUR MIRROR

I AM LOVED

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. 1 JOHN 3:1

How wonderful to wake up and know that even before I get out of bed, I am loved. And not by just anyone, loved by my Father, the One who created me with His breath of life, who formed me before being born, the One who chose me for Himself. His love is extravagant and irresponsible, it’s endless and captivating. It heals me, defines me, and makes me feel safe. Oh, what great love is this!

I AM HOLY

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. HEBREWS 10:10

I don’t know about you, but I’ve asked God about His will for my life maaaany times. The Bible is actually full of answers to this question and Hebrews 10:10 is one of them: His will is holiness. Not holiness achieved on my own merits, but the holiness that is a result of the sacrificed Lamb of God. His holiness makes us holy once and for all. I really love that! We don’t have to wait to be better or have it all together, thanks to what Jesus already did, we can declare that we are holy. How would your life change if you truly believed that in Him you are holy… without blemish, without flaw, without sin pointing a finger at you? To be holy means that God chose us and set us apart for Himself. When I declare that I am holy, I am declaring that I belong to God and that in Him, I find my place.

I AM REDEEMED

He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. EPHESIANS 1:7

If God paid such a high price to redeem me, it must’ve been because He saw something very valuable in me. I wholeheartedly believe this to be true, after all, He created me for Himself. But the enemy tries to pull us away from the Father with empty promises that only lead to darkness. BUT GOD! He abounds in grace and goodness. His love for us crucified His Son on the cross and three days later, this same redeeming love, raised Him up and left the tomb empty. If you feel worthless because of what you’ve lived, what’s been done to you, or the decisions you’ve made — or you don’t know your worth simply because no one has ever told you how special you are, look at Jesus. His love defines our worth and because this world didn’t give it to us, this world cannot take it.

I AM FREE

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. JOHN 8:36

When I declare that I AM FREE, I remind myself why I’ve been made free. I am free to laugh, to love and be loved, to enjoy, to grow, to dream, and to inspire. But I am also free to forgive, to extend mercy and grace, free to live beyond my ambitions… free to run after Jesus wherever He leads. I am free to truly live!

I AM FORGIVEN

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 JOHN 1:9

Let’s talk about toxic habits. I’ll start. Replaying mistakes I’ve made over and over, wasting time and energy. Feeling guilty is often times easier than repentance because the latter requires change. When I declare that I AM FORGIVEN, the weight of sin is removed because, through faith, I receive God’s forgiveness. His forgiveness then allows me to make a change from victory instead of striving for it.

SOY UNA NUEVA CREACIÓN

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

I’ve heard moms say that one of their favorite things is seeing the world through their baby’s eyes. Babies are fascinated by the very things we’ve grown accustomed to. Being a new creation means that the old things have indeed passed away and that I am not defined by my past. But it also means that in becoming a new life, I receive a fresh perspective… new eyes that see God in everything, a heart that chooses to trust in the Father day after day, feet that walk in Jesus’ footsteps with an untainted faith, a new set of lungs to shout the Good News for all to know that He is near and He is good! When I declare that I AM A NEW CREATION, it’s like I’m spritzing on that new car smell… instead of smelling like leather seats and new tires, I smell (and look) like Jesus more and more every day.

I AM HIS MASTERPIECE

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. EPHESIANS 2:10

A masterpiece takes time. Not just the time needed to create it, but the time and energy used when conceptualizing, meditating, imagining, and desiring. You and I are God’s masterpieces. I love that in Genesis when we read about the Creation Story, we learn that God used His Word to create everything. But when it came time to create man, He used His hands and breathed life from His mouth. It was so personal, so intimate. Declaring that I AM GOD’S MASTERPIECE replaces insecurity with the truth that He is pleased when He looks at me, that I bring Him joy, and that I reflect His very nature.

I ABOUND IN HOPE AND GRACE

4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. 13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. ROMANS 15:4, 13

I love words like ¨fill you completely¨ and ¨overflow with confident hope¨. They’re supercharged with hope and expectation. When I declare that I ABOUND IN HOPE AND GRACE, I am plugging into His endless supply. I don’t have to settle for disappointment and stress, I can choose gratitude and faith. I don’t have to succumb to negative self-talk or gossip about others, I am plugged into GOD so I can live in the strength of His grace and extend it to others as well. Hope and grace are gifts, weapons, and life-giving agents that we abound in when we are in Him!

I hope these blessed you and made you smile!

Your friend,

Nadia Kay 🌟
